In a single, integrated design application, Intercept customers will now be able to access Omega PLUS from within PANTHEON as the interface uses PANTHEON’S PERL API. The PCB layout information can be directly exported into Omega PLUS, providing PCB designers and engineers with a complete design solution—from design capture through PCB placement, routing, analyzing and understanding signal sensitivity and radiating “hot spots”, to performing “what if” scenarios to produce optimal PCB designs.

The Omega PLUS interface combines the physical layers and the dielectric layers from PANTHEON to create the board-stackup. Users can specify the output file path, component attributes to be used for the source of the part code (allowing components to use different simulation models) and whether all nets or selected nets should be output. Omega PLUS can then be run on the output file from within PANTHEON.

Omega PLUS defined

Omega PLUS allows PCB designers and engineers to address electronic performance interference prior to prototyping. Available on both PC and Unix workstations, this tool accurately screens all popular layout formats for signal integrity and EMC violations. Once the analysis parameters are set, looking at a graphical view of the board, users can screen one net, a group of nets or an entire printed circuit board for high-speed verification and analysis. Comprehensive user-configurable reports are produced allowing engineers and board designers to address problems individually or cooperatively by forwarding the simulated data via the Omega PLUS mailer. Changes can then be made quickly and effectively within the Terminations Editor instead of having to sit down for lengthy design reviews.
