| Frequently Asked Questions | ||||||||||||
1) What is required by the EE to input all necessary information prior to simulations? |
Compliance requires the EE/Designer to supply the data from the design layout. The software is able to read the design file through the required interface, which Quantic supplies at no charge (for the first interface). The software then creates a simulation of the board data which is analyzed numerically and displayed graphically, providing the end user with a pinpoint assessment. |

2) What is the learning curve timeframe to become proficient? |
Compliance is useable by engineer and designer alike within a few hours. Quantic has made the GUI very user friendly, with expert proficiency coming in as little as a couple of weeks. |
3) What is involved in generating new models for ICs used in the simulation? |
Compliance reads IBIS models and will soon read IBIS 3.2. The software reads Berkeley SPICE models as well. Quantic's default model options will work for emissions to find the radiating nets. |

4) Does the software contain component libraries? |
Default libraries are included in Compliance at this time. There is also a free Database Manager, a free Impedance Calculator and a free mailer, useful for sending Compliance data between engineers, designers and clients. |

5) How is the software license set up? Is it a single user/single access, single user/multiple access, etc? |
Quantic will issue you a temporary FlexLM license for Compliance during the course of your evaluation. Upon purchase, Quantic will issue you a permanent license. The permanent license is single user/multiple access - meaning it is a single networked floating license for use at a single site. Customers may purchase multiple licenses as well. |

6) What PCB layout software is it capable of interfacing with? |
Quantic's Compliance interfaces with nearly all of the available PCB layout software tools. |
7) Does it handle pre-layout as well as post-layout analysis? |
Yes, Compliance handles pre-layout with EZ Greenfield 2d with SPICE output. Quantic's AutoTools, not included within Compliance, produces the DO files and the physical/electromagnetic rules for the SPECCTRA Autorouter. |

8) Can Compliance analyze ground and power planes thoroughly including split planes, moats ground and power plane inductances, ground bounce (caused by simultaneous switching noise for instance)? |
Compliance's Ground Plane Modeller PROPERLY and effectively analyzes split power and ground planes. |
9) Does Compliance analyze multicoupled lossy lines on multilayers systems based on a purely physical definition of traces and layers? |
Our transmission line module in Compliance will produce SPICE models of lossy transmission lines which can be run by SPICE programs. |
10) Does Compliance handle EMC analysis? |
Both our SI/Crosstalk and Emissions modules in Compliance handles NEAR-FIELD EMC analysis. |
